Personal Journey:
My name is Eva and I came to Canada from Hungary 10 years ago.
It was 16 years ago back in Hungary when I started my first full time job: I was teaching in a high-school. After a few months I noticed that my knees started getting sore and I had back pain after every day.
I had always been physically active, had only minor sport-injuries that resulted in the occasional soreness of my knees. I learned to live with the minor knee ache, but the pain in my back was something new. A few visits to a chiropractor/physiotherapist opened my eyes: I had no reason to live with constant pain so I had to face it: I neglected my body.
I started learning more about human biomechanics, joined to yoga and aerobics classes and the local community centre to swim and do resistance training. With regular exercises program my body became stronger, and even the knee pain, that I thought would stay with me forever was gone after a few months! I became a new person!
